PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Founded in 2001 by a group of just 60 coffee farmers, COMSA began its journey by transitioning from conventional agriculture to organic farming. Working alongside Corporación Educativa para el Desarrollo Costarricense (CEDECO), members adopted sustainable growing practices focused on conservation, soil health, and long-term environmental stewardship.

As farming methods improved, so did coffee quality and yields, allowing producers to access specialty coffee markets and earn better prices for their harvests. This success fueled steady growth, making COMSA one of Honduras' leading coffee cooperatives.

Today, COMSA educates its members through its philosophy of the Five M's of Sustainable Farming: Organic Matter, Microorganisms, Minerals, Living Molecules, and Gray Matter (knowledge and innovation). What began as a small collective has grown into a thriving community of more than 1,200 farmers, all committed to producing exceptional coffee while protecting the land for future generations.
